Lumina Aesthetic & Wellness — full website audit

This is not a list of tech jargon. It is a plain-English review of luminaaesthetic.com — how old it is, how visible it is on Google, what is broken, and why a Patient Revenue Platform at US$10,000 is the upgrade that matches Midtown prices and Midtown competition.

Snapshot — the facts at a glance

Pulled from the live site, public Google Business signals, domain registration, and Sitechecker / PageSpeed captures you already reviewed.

How old is the site? ~2 yr 11 mo Domain registered 25 Aug 2023 (GoDaddy). Squarespace build from the same era.
Mobile speed 40 / 100 PageSpeed “Poor”. Instagram & Maps traffic lands on phones first.
Homepage weight 3.71 MB Heavy first load before a patient can book.
Google rating 5.0 ★ 49 Google reviews — excellent reputation, under-leveraged online.
Google Business Profile Listed 485 Madison Ave, Suite 709 — appears claimed / active on Maps.
Local visibility score 76 / 100 Public local-SEO scorecard (B+). Freshness of GBP activity needs work.
Broken storefront links 404 Main nav “Store” and “Gift Cards” currently open error pages.
Booking engine Square Patients leave Lumina’s brand into an outside plugin to book.

In one sentence for management: Lumina already has a 5-star reputation on Madison Avenue — but the website is a thin Squarespace brochure with broken shop/gift links, slow mobile performance, weak Google content structure, and booking that sends patients away from the brand. Competitors within a few blocks show hundreds of reviews and fuller online presence. The gap is not “pretty design.” It is revenue machinery.

1. How old is this website?

The domain luminaaesthetic.com was registered on 25 August 2023 (registrar: GoDaddy). As of July 2026 that is roughly 2 years and 11 months. The live site is a Squarespace build (typical template commerce + Accordion services). For Midtown aesthetics, a nearly-three-year-old template site with thin SEO structure already reads “outdated” next to doctor-led platforms that educate, sell retail, and book on-brand.

2. How much traffic is it getting?

We do not have Lumina’s Google Analytics login in this audit (that should be shared on the Discovery Call). Using public ranking and listing signals as a proxy:

What “low discovery traffic” means in dollars: If even 20 extra qualified Midtown patients per month book an average $180 treatment, that is ~$3,600/month — the platform pays for itself quickly. Basket size grows further when retail + packages + points are visible on the same branded journey.

3. Is it ranked on Google — and for what?

Primary keyword we would own for Lumina: “medical spa Midtown East” / “medical spa Madison Avenue NYC” (high intent, local). Secondary: “facial Madison Avenue”, “carbon peel facial NYC”, “dermaplaning Midtown”, “laser hair removal Midtown East”, brand + “gift card”.

Keyword / theme Current signal Why it matters
Lumina Aesthetic & Wellness (brand) Found People who know the name can reach you. Brand alone does not fill the calendar.
Medical spa near Madison / Midtown East Weak vs nearby spas This is where new high-intent patients start. Nearby competitors out-publish and out-review you.
Facial / carbon peel / dermaplaning + NYC Thin on-site pages Treatments live in homepage accordions — not rich landing pages Google/AI can rank.
Gift cards / shop skincare Lumina Nav 404s Google and patients hit dead ends. Revenue features are advertised then broken.

4. Google Maps & Google Business Profile

Yes — Lumina is listed on Google Maps / Business Profile at 485 Madison Avenue, 7th Floor, Suite 709, New York, NY 10022, phone (347) 583-6395, category Medical spa, 5.0 stars from 49 Google reviews. Public visibility scorecards put overall local visibility around 76/100 (B+), with profile completeness ~85% and freshness (posts/photos activity) needing work.

5. Evidence from your live site (screenshots)

Live capture Sitechecker overview of luminaaesthetic.com

Overview numbers

  • 3.71 MB page size — patients wait; many leave.
  • Title only 27 characters — missing city and intent words Google shows in blue links.
  • Meta description 42 characters — too short to win the Google snippet.
  • Four H1 headings — explained in plain English below.
Live capture Four H1 tags listed on Lumina homepage

Four “main titles” on one page

Captured H1s include Lumina, Services, Contact Us, Lumina again.

  • Services like Facials sit lower in the hierarchy — money pages don’t get structural weight.
Live capture Mobile PageSpeed 40 Desktop 72

Speed — mobile is failing first impressions

  • Mobile 40 = Poor. Desktop 72 = Average.
  • Premium Midtown patients judge professionalism in the first seconds on their phone.
Live capture Full page current Lumina homepage

Full page — brochure, not a revenue platform

  • Giant brand wordmark, short service list, contact, newsletter — little retail, no loyalty, booking outsourced.
  • Compare to the new mockup modeled on staraesthetic.co.za.

6. Plain English — what these “tech” problems actually mean

What is an H1? Think of the H1 as the chapter title of the page — the one main headline that tells Google and AI assistants: “This page is about ___.”

Why four H1s is a problem: It is like a book with four different chapter titles on the same page. Google is unsure whether the page is about Lumina the brand, Services, or Contact. Patients are also unsure what action matters most. Best practice: one clear main title (for example: a Midtown medical spa consultation promise) and then orderly sub-headings for Facials, Laser, Peels.

After the upgrade: One confident main title, clean sub-headings, treatment pages that can actually rank.

What is a Meta Title / Meta Description? These are the blue link and the short paragraph you see on Google before you click. They are not the big text on the website itself — they are the “advert” for your page in search results.

Why Lumina’s are too short: Title ~27 characters and description ~42 characters waste the free advertising space Google gives every page. Competitors use that space to say “Medical Spa Midtown · Facials & Laser · Book Online.”

After the upgrade: Every key page gets a crafted Google title and description that earns the click — then a fast page that earns the booking.

Why “thin content” is a business problem: The homepage leans on short accordion blurbs. There is little educational depth answering real patient questions (“How long is downtime after a PCA peel?”, “What should I expect at a first facial consult on Madison?”). Google and AI tools (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) prefer pages that answer questions clearly.

After the upgrade: Treatment pages written in question-led headings, so Lumina can be found and cited — not just listed.

Why headings should be in question format: People search in questions. AI assistants retrieve answers in questions. Headings like “What is a Carbon Peel Facial?” and “How do I book a consultation at Lumina?” match how patients and algorithms think. Generic labels like “Services” or “Lumina” do not.

After the upgrade: Question-led structure across treatments, booking, gift cards, and rewards — built for Google and AI discovery.

Broken Store & Gift Cards (404): On the live site, primary navigation items for Store and Gift Cards currently open “We couldn’t find the page.” That is not a small bug — it tells patients (and Google) the commerce story is unfinished. You already sell packages and retail on /packages — but the menu path is broken.

After the upgrade: Featured products on the homepage, a proper shop, and a gift voucher flow that feels like Lumina — not a dead link.

Outside Square booking: “Bookings” sends patients to squareup.com. Functional, but it leaves your brand, design, and upsell environment. A custom appointment experience keeps the patient inside Lumina, can attach points, packages, and retail suggestions, and looks like a $10k practice — not a plugin.

7. Today vs after the Patient Revenue Platform

Today — why it feels outdated

  • Squarespace brochure (~3 years in market)
  • Mobile speed 40 · 3.71 MB home
  • Four main titles · thin Google “ad” text
  • Services buried in accordions
  • Store & Gift Cards links broken (404)
  • Booking exits to Square
  • No loyalty / points story on-site
  • Products not featured as a homepage revenue engine
  • Maps reputation stronger than website experience

After — US$10,000 platform (mockup)

  • Modeled on proven Star Aesthetic depth
  • Speed-first build · target 90+ mobile
  • One clear main title · full Google titles & descriptions
  • Treatment cards with imagery + question-led pages
  • Working Gift Cards + featured retail on home
  • Custom Lumina booking pages (on-brand)
  • Lumina Points to bring patients back
  • Voice concierge path for after-hours interest
  • Website becomes the brand ambassador Maps deserves

8. Results the new website is built to produce

1. Rank for primary keywords

Structured pages aimed at Midtown / Madison medical spa and treatment terms — not one thin homepage.

2. Stronger Google Business presence

Site and GBP aligned (NAP, hours, photos, booking) so the listing and website reinforce each other.

3. Found on Google Maps with a worthy landing page

When someone taps the website from Maps, they get speed, trust, and book — not a slow brochure.

4. Regular enquiries & bookings

Custom booking + clear CTAs + follow-through so interest becomes diary appointments.

5. Increased online product sales

Homepage featured products + packages + fixed shop paths — retail is visible, not hidden or 404.

6. Brand ambassador status + larger basket size

Basket size = how much a patient spends per visit/relationship (treatment + retail + package + gift card). A premium site makes the next add-on feel natural and trustworthy — patients willingly spend more when the brand feels like a top NYC aesthetic practice.

Investment framing: Patient Revenue Platform — US$10,000 (50% deposit / 50% pre-launch). Comparable Midtown patient value means the site does not need heroic traffic to return the fee — it needs a tighter conversion system on the reputation Lumina already earned.
